OUR TEAM
IBN's founder and principal environmental consultant is Cynthia Pyć. Cynthia has over 28 years' experience supporting major energy projects on all four coastlines of the continental U.S. and Canada - from the Gulf Coast to the Canadian Beaufort Sea, the Atlantic seaboard from New York to Nova Scotia, and offshore California, the Pacific Northwest, and the Sunshine Coast. Cynthia has also delivered renewable and conventional energy projects onshore in Alberta and BC, and offshore internationally in a variety of jurisdictions.

A scientist at heart, her areas of expertise include regulatory advocacy, strategic planning, environmental and social impact and risk assessment, environmental permitting, compliance and monitoring, as well as underwater acoustics, safe operations planning, emergency and incident management, science communications and Indigenous rightsholder engagement.

Cynthia is a seasoned leader with extensive experience building and guiding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe and successful outcomes for businesses, communities and the environment.
OUR STORY
IBN stands for Inspired by Nature. While it may sound cliché, I chose the name to reflect my core values. From my childhood in the Arctic and northern Alberta to my formative years, living next to the Rocky Mountains and on the Gulf Coast, nature has always been central to my life. It is where I go to recharge and reconnect—with myself and the world around me. Whether on a walk through the woods or diving beneath the ocean surface, the natural world feeds my curiosity and inspires my compassion and commitment to protecting the planet and its inhabitants.
